Handdyed Recycled Silk Sari

Available unddyed, custom-dyed or in a variety of ever-changing colors!
This soft, slinky yarn is made from the remnants of the silk sari weaving industry. A co-op of Nepalese women gather the bits of fiber that remain when saris are cut off the loom, sort the undyed fibers and recycle them by handspinning a beautiful, undyed yarn. When it comes to my home, I dye it in soft shades not available from the co-op
This yarn is purchased from cooperatives who provide fair wages to the women who spin and skein the yarns, and the supplier puts a portion of the profits into helping purchase equipment or providing funds for educational programs.
Every skein is unique and quirky due to the qualities of handspun, recycled yarn.
