This yarn is a sustainable choice made from upcycled possum fur and merino wool.

Off-cuts from garments and yarn that don’t make it into a finished product are shredded by our local partners in Christchurch and then sent down the road to be carded and blended with virgin wool and spun into a beautifully soft hand knitting yarn.

We ask that knitters Wash and then Tumble Dry their knitting (on Low Heat for the first time only) This brings out the possum fur from the yarn, we call it the fur ‘burst’.

Because of this treatment knitting will change post wash and dry. Expect prewash gauge of 30 rows and 21 stitches and a post-wash gauge of 35 rows and 22 stitches in a 10 x 10cm area (4 x 4inch).

Your knitting will shrink in length more so than width (ie: an increase in rows more so than in stitches)
