As described on the PortFiber website and at Cashmere People Yarns.

Cashgora is a cross breed between local, Tajik goats (mohair-type) and cashmere-type goats. These animals are raised in Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The fiber is washed in Afghanistan and the yarn is handspun by co-operatives of women in Tajikistan. Each yarn has a picture of the woman who spun the skein. The yarn is hand-dyed in 24 colors and is also available in two natural colors - a white (Pamirs) and a brown (Scree).
