Ladysheep
Let me introduce you to her Ladysheep! As a true noble, she amazes with her class, beauty and lineage - it’s a combination of delicate merino with glowing silk (30%!). Silk not only enhances the yarn with a subtle gloss and smoothness, but also provides it with durability, allowing it to keep shape well. It’s a single ply, fingering weight yarn. Adequate twist and high percentage of silk in its content make it more resilient than other 1 ply pure wool yarns.
The yarn has a unique three dimensional effect thanks to hand dyeing, the colours mix beautifully, blending unnoticeably one into another. You wouldn’t be able to reproduce it on any other base! I can’t even describe it, it’s such an exceptional yarn!
Ladysheep is very easy-going - no matter how sensitive your skin is, they will find a common language. This yarn is not able to irritate in any way, being so nice and a little fluffy - it has a slight down typical for this kind of yarn.
It goes well with every kind of stitch, from cables, through lace to plain stitches. It forms even, round stitches, shines with class and its softness is visible to the naked eye.
Additionally, it’s sheep friendly, as every other yarn in Chmurka’s store. Rest assured the wool comes only from verified, ecological mills.
As a single ply yarn, my Ladysheep likes special treatment. Working with it will be a pure pleasure if you know how to handle such a celebrity (it’s not hard!). Every single yarn should be worked on slightly bigger needles than usual with fingering yarn. If your swatch is even and there is no space between the stitches, you chose too small needles :) The yarn swells a bit and fills holes after washing, creating a fabric as soft as a cloud. If it doesn’t have enough space for that, the resulting garment tends to pill. So it’s important to provide her with room and freedom - she’s a noble, you can’t restrict her! After so many metres of single ply yarns worked, I can recommend a perfect gauge for such base - 21 sts per 10 cm - of course after washing!
Ladysheep can be used for any kind of project - sweaters, shawls and other accessories will come out beautiful!
