I was born in Rochester, NY and every spring is the Lilac Festival on Cobb Hill. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of different types of lilacs in all shades of violet, lavender and white. I was also born in May, so lilacs are my birthday flower. The handspun yarn is mainly wool, with a little mohair. Plied with a metallic violet thread.
The yarn is aran to bulky weight and weighs approximately 5 ounces, with 140 yards. The fibers come from a diverse variety of sources, including some purchased on a trip to Norway and Iceland. There are also some handpainted rovings I purchased from fellow Etsy artists mixed in here. Have fun with this unusual yarn!
