Cotton Air

Cotton Air is a 2-ply, lightly twisted, fine cotton yarn with a crisp feel and good stitch definition.
The crispness keeps the stitches round and open, resulting in a garment that is airy and perfect for summer wear. This yarn is intended to be used doubled, enabling knitters to create a wide range of color effects by pairing colors of their choosing.
Tips for the Cotton Air yarn
Winding:
Remove a label and open up the yarn. it will be a hank the same size as another company’s yarn.
The hank has one tie to hold a hank, and keep the tie until you set up a hank to a swift. This will prevent the threads from getting tangled. After the hank is on your swift, always check carefully at the point where the hank is tied to make sure all the strands are coming out of those points the right way. If so much as one strand does a U-turn and goes the other way, you’ll end up with a hot mess on your hands. Cut tie, and wind ball tight (Put tension on the yarn as you wind. The ball may fly from the ball winder if there is not enough tension). This is a good tip for all plant fiber. Stuff tissue in the center hole and use the outside end of the ball for knitting.
Needles:
If you feel the yarn is slippery to handle, try using wooden or bamboo needles.
Join new balls:
Using the magic knot method.
Blocking:
We recommend filling a bowl/bucket with water, submerging your swatch or garment and lightly squeezing it until there are no bubbles. Do not soak. Remove swatch/garment from water and squeeze as much water out of it as you can. Roll in a towel and step on it to remove as much water as possible. Stretch it, lay flat, pin sides and let dry completely.
