Self Striping Sock with Magic Swirl
This self-striping yarn is like no other. It has horizontal stripes but, as you work (whether its toe-up, cuff-down or two at a time) there’s a magic swirl of color that appears and wraps around the sock.
The swirl will break when doing sock patterns that call for a heel flap. So when you see sample socks knit with this yarn where the swirl seems not to stop, there is most likely an Afterthought Heel of some sort in place.
This yarn is for experienced sock knitters who aren’t afraid of testing out needle size and number of CO stitches to yield a swirl that doesn’t pool in one place, because this is a slight possibility.
This yarn is designed for socks but will be fun in many other projects such as scarves, hats, mitts or boot cuffs. The swirl may come out and play with those projects too, but it is not guaranteed.
Sample socks were knit with needle sizes 1-2, with number of sts cast on ranging from 60-68.
