Shakti is overtwisted for durability, ideal when you’re knitting socks. Made from the same high quality superwash merino as Shiva, it does behave differently. Fair Isle colorwork done in Shakti has a slightly rippled surface, in contrast to the smooth surface of Shiva.

I use Shakti for socks, Shiva for colorwork like the Namaste Mitts, Lush or Avaze Sa for Shawls, cowls and baby things.
