A merino singles base with a lovely sheen and just a hint of the ‘crinkle’ that makes single-ply merino so delightful to work with. This is perfect for shawls, cowls and other special items that will show off its wonderful properties.

We kettle dye Holt in small batches using a combination of immersion and hand-painting to give Holt yarn subtle areas of variegation that will ‘pool’ and ‘flash’ depending on gauge.

Our HOLT | singles base also come in mini skein form! The miniHOLT bundles contain 5 mini skeins, each with 80 metres of single ply merino yarn - a total of 400m and equivalent to 100g. Holt has a lovely sheen, great drape and the characteristic ‘crinkle’ of single ply yarn. It takes dye wonderfully and we dye these ‘freestyle’ taking inspiration from all around us to come up with ever changing selections that are great for pairing with semi-solids or using on their own. Although HOLT is a superwash fibre, we recommend hand washing in cool water to preserve the vibrancy of the dye.
