Ultra Merino DK is 100% superwash merino dk yarn from Orchidean Yarns. This yarn also comes in a 4ply, an Aran weight. The light twist ensures that all Ultra Merino yarns are are soft, spongey and machine washable! If you’re anything like me this is a must when making anything for children or even something that you are going to use a lot… It is exceptional value too.

As with all yarns, I am happy to dye a jumper quantity of any of the colourways. When you place an order I will always ensure that the entire order is from the same batch, so rest assured, if I only have one left, and you place an order for 2, I will re-dye for you.

As you can see I have dyed hundreds of colourways, and coming up with names for them all was initially really hard… So, I decided to name them all after my second big love – tracks of my years… Almost all of my hand dyed yarns are named after songs, and most of which are particular favourites. This yarn is mostly named after Queen tracks but there are a few others in there that are also on other bases.

A couple of things to bear in mind about hand dyed yarn:

No two skeins are ever the same, even if they have been dyed in the same pot. For larger projects I recommend you knit with two skeins and alternate every other row for consistency and to prevent pooling.
Whilst every effort has been taken to ensure colour-fastness, there is a chance that some residual dye may remain (this is normal – think jeans…) I suggest hand washing all garments in cool water prior to being worn and keep bright colours separate.
