Knitting Gauge: 15-18 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on sizes US 8 – 10 (5-6 mm) knitting needles.

Crochet Gauge: 9-10 stitches = 4 inches in single crochet on sizes US I/9 – K/10.5 (5.5-6.5 mm) crochet hooks.

Because Fluff is made using natural fibers, it works well for a wide range of gauges. As always, be sure to gauge swatch to assure proper size of your finished item.

Fluff is a uniquely constructed blown chainette-style yarn. What this means is that a very small, hollow, polyamide chain suspends fluffy alpaca fibers within, creating a uniquely lightweight and ‘fluffy’ yarn. Just a bit of merino works to grip the alpaca fibers and keep everything in place. Fluff is the only yarn we carry that contains polyamide but since it allows the baby alpaca fibers to showcase their unique properties, we decided it was ok!

This is an amazingly soft, lightweight, and warm yarn that works best for sweaters and delicate accessories. Because of the unique construction, we don’t recommend Fluff for hard wearing items such as mittens or socks.

Care Instructions: Fluff is made using natural, non-superwash fibers. Because of this, special care is necessary when washing. Handwash only in lukewarm water using a mild soap. Lay flat to dry. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or iron.
