The yarn Cumbria is a symbiosis of the former Bamboo Bio and Bio Cotton series and now complements our range again with a high-quality, vegan yarn.

The all-rounder combines the advantages of the fiber mix pima cotton and bamboo viscose to a super soft yarn with an absolute adorable feeling on your skin – its pleasurable touch will remind you of a merino-silk yarn. 

You will be fascinated when starting to handle Cumbira as the yarn is very nice and easy to knit with.

Suitable for all seasons and all weather, this yarn can be used for any knitting project. The fiber properties secure a cooling effect in summer and the fluffy surface ensures warming qualities in winter. The range of colors is reconciled with all seasons and comes up with strong and vibrant as well as with tender and restrained colors.

In addition, the yarn impresses with its lightness and dimensional stability, despite the use of bamboo viscose. You will not have to worry about your finished knitting piece to wear out.

So you will not only be stoked when being vegan or wool allergic. The yarn has an application for every knitter, such as home accessories, baby clothes, women’s and men’s sweaters or scarves.

Cumbria ist eine wunderbar zarte und seidig-glänzende Mischung aus hochwertiger Pima-Baumwolle und Bambus-Viskose.

Die Mischung der Fasern macht Cumbria zu einem herrlich weichen Garn, dass es vom Hautgefühl her durchaus mit einem Merino-Seide-Mix aufnehmen kann. Cumbria lässt sich sehr angenehm verarbeiten und eignet sich für Strick- und Häkelprojekte gleichermaßen gut.

Die Fasereigenschaften verleihen Cumbria einen kühlenden Effekt im Sommer, und der leichte Flausch vermag in der kalten Jahreszeit durchaus zu wärmen. Das macht das vegane Garn zu einem tollen Ganzjahresgarn. Die Farbpalette haben wir entsprechend auf das ganze Jahr abgestimmt – von zart und zurückhaltend hin zu kräftig und fröhlich ist alles dabei.

Benannt ist unser Garn Cumbria übrigens nach dem einstigen Wohnort von Donald Watson, der 1944 die “Vegan Society” gründete und das Wort “vegan” erfand.
