71% mohair, 23% wool, 6% nylon

Vintage yarn from 60’s - sold as “Mohair 71%” in pre-decimal 1oz skeins, then as “Mohair” in 25g skeins after 1966.

Australia didn’t implement metric measures until the late 1970s (decimal currency was another matter) so ‘vintage’ Australian yarns with ball bands showing the weight inounces could be as recent as 1979, although that’s still a vintage yarn in my book!
