Pakucho Duo Flammé Color Grown Cotton
Pakucho: As close to nature as colours can be.
“The earliest records of spinning date back nearly eight millennia, to Peru, where Pakucho meant “brown cotton” in ancient inca. Today, native-spun Pakucho cotton is grown in natural cream, beige, brown, avocado and mauve shades. No pesticides, herbicides or other agrochemicals are used to grow or color these yarns. All harvesting and color sorting is done by hand, just as it has been since the domestication of cotton in Peru over 4500 years ago.”
James Vreeland Jr, founder of the cooperative Peru Naturtex, an association of small farmers and processing companies in the region Quilca, Peru.
For this Pakucho yarn, two flammé-yarns of different colours are softly plied together to give an uneven, earthy, natural look.
Because of this look the yarn is perfectly suitable for beginners, because there is no possibility for an even result.
Organic colours intensify with washing.
Hand or machine wash warm, rinse cool. Dry flat or gently tumble to almost dry and finish flat. Allow app.10-15% shrinkage in length for tumble-drying.
The plants are GMO-free.
