Riihivilla Velho is 100% Finnish wool, not solely Finnsheep, but there is also wool from mixed breeds and crosses with Finnsheep. Velho is made of long combed wool, and it feels soft to hand.

Velho is 3-ply, light fingering weight, almost lace weight. There are about 340 - 350 meters (380 yards) in 100 g. WPI is 20. The gauge recommendation is 32 sts / 10 cm and the needle recommendation is 2 mm European or according to gauge.

Handwash in lukewarm water although this yarn does not felt so easily as Aarni or Maahinen.

Velho is a good yarn for scarves or anything you wear close to skin, but I don’t recommend it for socks.
