About the Yarn Base
A bit of this, a touch of that: with these mini-sized skeins you can mix up your own magic in any project. Turn a basic vanilla sock or a simple hat into something festive and fun with stripes! Emrys mini skeins use the same blend of superwash merino and nylon as Merlin and are perfect for coordinating with the self-striping colors of Merlin so you can have solid heels and toes for your socks. You can also mix and match the mini skeins on their own to create gradient projects or other patterns that use smaller quantities of multiple colors. No matter what spell you weave, these minis are here to add a dose of fun and a hint of magic to every project.

About the Name
Emrys is another name given to Merlin, mostly used in stories about his younger years.
When he was a boy, Merlin was brought to the ruler Vortigern, who had been trying to build a tower. No matter what Vortigern did, every night, the tower collapsed, destroying all the work that had been done on it during the day. He was advised that the only way for the tower to remain standing was to sprinkle the ground with the blood of a fatherless child.
Merlin was rumored to be such a child (possibly with a demon father, possibly with no father whatsoever). But he halted Vortigern’s plans by revealing the true reason for the towers collapse: a hidden lake beneath the tower in which two dragons were constantly fighting. These two dragons, red and white, were symbolic of the Saxons and Britons.
