Superskeins are big cakes of guaranteed shawl happiness!

This is a really lovely ombre gradient that starts with a light turquoise and goes through a incredibly smooth one way gradient to a deep peacock blue.

This superskein is mathematically weighted and designed to be worked from light to dark evenly as you work outward in a typical shawl. If you are casting on at the neck, we suggest starting with the lighter end in the center. If you are casting on at the edge, start with the darker end. Alternatively, if you love that dark peacock blue and want to have a LOT of that with lighter turquoise highlight on the edge, you can do that too. The gradients is wound with the lightest end in the middle. If you want the cake rewound in the opposite direction with the darkest part in the middle, we can do that for you. Just put it as a note during checkout.

Fingering weight 80% superwash Merino/20% silk (150g/600y/548m). This particular batch is weighing a little heavier at about 155g/620y/567m. Suggested needle size 2-3, suggested hook size C-E for stockinette, but this yarn is usually used for a variety of patterned or lace projects. Most people usually go with a US5/US6 needle and a G/H hook for shawls.

All skeins are washed and triple rinsed, but some green/blues and red/pinks will still give off color in the soak, and this is one of them. To minimize this, we would recommend a SHORT, COOL soak with a TINY bit of wool wash, textile detergent or original dawn dishwashing soap. Do not exceed 105 degrees when washing or soaking. All Vivid Fiber Arts yarns are fragrance-free.
