Blanks are made of two strands of sock yarn held together, and knit into a fabric. This fabric is then dyed into a pattern. When you unravel the blank, both strands of yarn have the same dye pattern and you can knit two idential socks!

This process is especially good for knitting socks, armwarmers or other small in-the-round projects two at a time, but you can of course knit one strand and roll the other into a ball as you go.

Blanks are a lot of fun to knit with. The flow of colours will keep you interested as you knit, and the final result is always surprising.
