A single-ply, woollen-spun heavy laceweight, Shetland 1 from Garthenor is a lovely combination of light, warm, soft and slightly rustic, blooming and softening beautifully when wet-blocked.

Dyed with plants collected around my neighbourhood in Glasgow, food waste and sustainably-produced raw plant material and dye extracts, these soft shades are light-fast but, like all natural dyes, may change and develop over time, a quality valued by many cultures.
