An experiment to mix “primary” colors.
First, a big skein, one third dipped into pin to make wide stripes.
Second, rewrap that same skein into a smaller skein, dip one third into yellow, to make thinner (but more frequent) stripes that would turn orange where they touched the pink.
Third, rewrap that same skein into a small skein, dip one third into blue to make frequent, thin stripes that would turn green when they touched yellow, purple where they touched pink, and brown where they touched orange.
In fact, I did the yellow first, then the blue, then pink, according to the pics. The skein lengths for each were
Pink: 30m
Yellow: 20m
Blue: 12m
In November I got a sock machine and cranked up armwarmers for Jas. See last pic for how the colors striped up. (The light pink on the ends is scrap yarn)
