Notes

My stats for Tour de Fleece 2016 -

Spun 1324g/1.3kg (2.9lb) of fibre
Ended up with 1223g (2.7lb) of yarn
and 3628m (3968yds) or 3.6km (2.25miles) of yarn!
Plus 59g of leftover skeins (mainly chain plied/3 ply).

Made enough for a sweater (in this case probably a poncho) - that was my goal for this year.
I also have enough yarn for several scarves/shawls, a hat and a few other skeins just for fun.

July 2016

Day 1 - Spinning the silk and merino blend. Spun almost all of the fibre. The silk noils are lovely to spin - really don’t need a lot for effect.
Day 2 - Finished up the silk and merino blend and started the rainbow gradient merino.
Day 3 - Finished both bobbins of the rainbow gradient and started plying.
Day 4 - Finished plying the rainbow gradient and started spinning the bright merino singles.
Day 5 - Finished spinning the bright merino singles and started on a sweater spin with the drum carded merino.
Day 6 - Finished the first bobbin of drum carded merino, and almost finished the second one.
Day 7 - Finished the first skein go the drum carded merino and working towards the second skein.
Day 8 - Almost finished two bobbins for the second skein of drum carded merino.
Day 9 - Plied the second skein of DC merino and got a good start on the third skein.
Day of Rest - A good day for fibre prep - I dyed and carded some fibre (plus a little spinning).
Day 10 - Finished the third skein of the sweater spin and almost finished the bobbins for the fourth skein. Finished drum carding the fibre I dyed yesterday.
Day 11 - A rain day outside, so a good day to stay inside and spin! I managed to finish spinning all the drum carded merino for a sweater spin (although I think now it might be a poncho spin). Finished 3 skeins today.
Day 12 - Tried spinning the Cheviot/Suffolk blend, only spun one skein (wasn’t the nicest to spin so I moved on to another fibre), also started some merino and silk (much nicer to spin).
Day 13 - Finished the singles of the merino and silk and started plying.
Day 14 - Finished the merino and silk, and started spinning some Finn - finished 2 bobbins for a 3 ply yarn.
Day 15 - Finished the skein of Finn and started some black merino. I did spin a bit of cotton since it was Challenge day, but it was not enjoyable and life is too short. Black merino is enough of a challenge for me.
Day 16 - Almost finished spinning the singles of black merino, and did some dyeing in preparation for tomorrows rest day/fibre prep day.
Day of Rest #2 - Blended, and made rolags from some silk and polwarth that I dyed yesterday . Also spun a bit more black merino.
Day 17 - Finished spinning and plying the dyed black merino, and started spinning the silk/polwarth blend.
Day 18 - Still working on the silk/polwarth art yarn blend.
Day 19 - Finished the first bobbin of the silk/polwarth blend, and almost finished the second bobbin.
Day 20 - Finished the second bobbin and plied the yarn - 525yds of silk/polwarth blend yarn.
Day 21 - Spun up a skein of hemp - lovely to spin and a great finish!
