My size: French 37 = US 5.5
As the pattern stands for size US 7.5; I decided to shorten the sole by stopping decreases with 8 sts left.

I picked-up only 38 sts by side instead of 42 ➔ 76 total
I placed the markers at 28 sts from beginning of round
and did as per pattern, ending with 62 sts.

Sole length before knitting the rest: 18cm - 7”

I didn’t knit the straps but sewed a 12.5cm - 5” piece of black elastic instead
