Quilla
I’ve been test knitting the english version
Sizing
This design’s sizes are based upon back measurement, from armpit to armpit.
➔ My back measures 36 cm, so I chose S size (38 cm) which will give me 2 cm of positive ease as suggested by the designer.
For each size, there are 3 options based on the bust measurement.
For S size
- option 1: 100 cm
- option 2: 103 cm
- option 3: 106 cm
➔ My bust measures 95 cm so I chose option 1 which will give me 5 cm of positive ease as suggested by the designer
Adjustments
The pattern also provides numerous tips and adjustments to fit special measurements in the spare PDF “Useful Guide Of Quilla Sweater”, that I recommend reading before starting knitting
I made no special adjustment.
Knitting
The pattern is clear and I found no technical difficulties.
The lace pattern is simple yet interesting and gives rhythm to the knitting
There are a few short rows in the beginning and a few stitches to pick-up, but the asymmetrical shape is obtained with the unusual construction without any short rows.
Finished sweater
➔ As I was test-knitting, I scrupulously followed the pattern, but my sweater turned out a little too large for me though I had correct gauge because it expanded a lot at blocking, owed to the silk.
It gained unexpected 4” (10 cm) in width, so that I have now 6” (15cm) of positive ease.
I like it very much like this, though.
➔ When modeled by my daughter ( nighttime photos with the young model ) the sweater has only 2” (5 cm) of positive ease.
She’s also 4” (10 cm) taller than me.
