two strand held together. gauge was too loose as per pattern, so went down a needle size and much better. had to modify the cast on number to compensate for the tighter gauge.

CO 70 sts
knit 6 rows of stockinette before starting pattern
knit 10 sts before beginning cable.
inserted 8 more rows of seed stitch owl tummy
knit 4 more rows of head
inserted a “p1, k3, p8,k3,p1” row directly after head cable (extended the ‘ears’)

knit 8 rows after finishing owl, (probably should have done less.) reduced 6 stitches before kitchenering the top together.
