21/10/13 I have been playing with an idea of knitting a stranded jacket out of these two yarns for a while. I had different idea in my mind but seeing this cardigan I decided to use the graph. I knit top down holding Balmoral yarn double. This is going to be really thick and warm cardy. RYC Alpaca Soft is boucle yarn and gives different structure to the knit. Cast on needles 6 mm.
24/10/13 Due bulkiness of the yarn decided not to knit with steeks. Learning to knit backwards now, easier than purling with two strands.
29/10/13 Needles 5.5 mm for waistline.
03/11/13 Switched back to needles 6mm, then 6.5 mm.
Knitting seamless set-in sleeves from the top down (needles 6.5 mm).
05/11/13 Blogged about knitting back backwards with two colors.
06/11/13 Needles 6mm for garter stitch edges on sleeves.
13/11/13 Knitted the collar on needles 6mm. Short row shaping.
17/11/13 Nearly there! Knitted button covers on needles 2.5 mm with one strand of yarn.
18/11/13 All knitting is done. Have to sew on buttons and snaps. Line it or not?
26/02/14 Finally lined it. Spring is here and I’m happy to wear it :)
