19th September, 2013:
I’ve swatched using the recommended hook but it’s coming up much too large. Will have to go down a size and have another go. At least the single crochet part didn’t change size after washing and blocking, so I’ll know without having to do that again.
22nd October
I’m going for 3.25 hook as a 3mm was too small. Have now started the first proper pattern row and it’s all going well. Actually very easy once you get started, although as with many Stitchdiva patterns, it’s a bloody nightmare to read the pattern as it’s printed so small and with the two different length options bundled in together. Think I shall have to buy them as pdfs in future, as at least then I can easily magnify on my ereader.
29th December
Put this one down for a while but have picked it up again. Suddenly realised I was meant to switch to the smaller hook after working the initial chain in the larger (I think--it doesn’t actually mention changing to the smaller one anywhere in the pattern). However, it’s coming up the same size as the pattern states, so I’m guessing that’s fine. Good thing I swatched!
Am now working on the SC edging. Have ended up working another 4 rows of the pattern to make the body piece long enough to fit me. Hope I still have enough yarn to finish…
2nd February 2014:
Picked this up again recently and started the floral edging at the bottom. It’s actually not all that tricky to crochet--it’s just unscrambling the instructions that’s tricky. A missing comma on row 6 had me scratching my head for a while.
July 2014:
I’ve had to shelve this project for a while as I’m pregnant, so there’s no point in trying to fit it to me when attaching the straps. So nearly there, though!

Now I’ve lost virtually all of the baby pounds I picked this up again to try and finish for Me Made May. I’ve spent the last few days finishing off the straps, and then blocked and verified the fit for the bodice.
I had to take the bodice in, and simply crocheting along the top with a 2.75mm hook wasn’t enough, so I worked a decrease in the top of each v stitch. I felt that still wasn’t quite enough so worked one more row of sc, decreasing 1 stitch over each the 8 v stitches at the bust.
Now I just have to finish weaving in all the ends and attach the straps to the bodice. It’s 10.30am, so fingers crossed, I will be wearing this by the end of the day!
