Notes

warp length: 2,5 m to get pooling

ran out of warp yarn: 174 ends instead of the planned 180

I probably haven’t thought this through very well, but here’s the plan:

Move this project from the old and unwieldy Kircher loom to my new Ashford RHL. Currently tying the beginning warp threads to the front warp stick. Then

  • wind the first bit of woven cloth and most of the warp onto the front roller,
  • untie the ends from the old loom,
  • pull ends out of 80 cm reed,
  • thread ends through the 60 cm reed,
  • tie ends to the back warp stick,
  • wind warp onto the back roller while trying to keep an even tension with the end of the already woven cloth,
  • adjust tension on the front end and
  • continue weaving.

If the tension doesn’t work out, I’ll have to cut off the woven part and re-warp with even tension, but I’d rather keep the full length for this shawl/scarf.

I just know that I won’t finish it on the old loom now that I know how easy and comfortable to use my new loom is!
