I rarely knit a sweater without major fit adjustments, but this pattern fit really well with minor tweaks! I love the lace. It took me awhile to get the hang of all the different lace panels with increases, but by the time the instructions eased, I had the whole thing memorized and was thoroughly addicted. I did have to be careful not to fly through the A section. Truth be told, I had to tink back on my first two panel repeats when I missed the A.

I was determined to use stash yarn. I had this beautiful Ariel in light green with gold undertones, but when I paired it with dark green merino, I didn’t like the marked look. On a whim, I tried it with the pearly gray lavender Polar Morn Mechita, and the nuanced colors shift beautifully in the light.

My gauge: 22x31 required me to knit a few extra rows of yoke. I divided after 2 full front lace charts. I knit 5 full lace charts plus 6 rows. With 179 sts on my needles, I knit 2 together before starting the hem on US5’s.

Picked up extra stitches to close underarm gaps and reduced to 75 stitches (33 on each side of the lace). Sleeves were a bit large, so after 33 rows (about 4 1/2”), k1, ssk, and k2tog, k1 at end of round. Repeated every 6 rounds. At 16” from underarm and after the reduction to 44 stitches, began the twisted rib.

Lost at yarn chicken with the Aerial mohair 26 rows into my second sleeve. Royal Bee Yarn Store to the rescue! Fortunately, the Mechita lasted with mere inches left for my final bind off (see last picture).
