I’ve finished the hood. I wish I had picked up sts from the base and knit the sides in the round. I’m not thrilled with how this sews up, but I don’t have time to redo it.

I have found instructions for a Bickford seam which seem pretty straight forward. If I ever make one of these for our other kids, I will pick up sts from the base and knit in the round.

January 10, 2015: The pattern is great, but if anyone else wants to make it, I’d ignore most of the construction directions. Make the base, PU sts for the bag and knit in the round, PU for the hood as directed, but PU all sts for the border before doing the Icord, I also didn’t do the extra yo, I did a flat ssk with the live sts instead. I knit the bedding in the round, and kept knitting flat for the top and made the pillow, and just sewed around three sides of that, and sewed the bottom closed like a sleeping bag. Also, I tied both ends of the Icord closures for the bag instead of sewing ends together.
