Modifying this pattern was the simplest part. For such a short, and relatively simple, pattern, it is fraught with error. Even armed with the publisher’s errata (which I have been following more than the pattern because there is more error than correct in the pattern), I am amazed at the problems with it.

My modification was simply to use finer yarn at a slightly looser gauge and do more repeats of the increases to get it to the proper width, then do the mock cable eyelet. It’s been far more challenging than you would think. It looks fine, though I can see where there was a problem with the pattern itself, but I don’t have the time to go and redo all the numbers and divisions of sts, so I’m just hoping it won’t be as noticeable to others.
