6/22 - Starting the first sock
6/23 (wee hours of the morning because I couldn’t stop knitting) - Finished Chart A. I can tell that this is going to be a fast knit!
6/26 - Finished sock #1. Fast knit!

7/7 (12:36am) - FINISHED!!
Awesome pattern. Didn’t use too much yarn either.
HPKCHC - Spring 2015 OWL - Arithmancy
Tried my gauge with size 1 needles but got 6 st per inch. Will drop down to size 0 for the actual pair based on the socks I’ve knit most recently.
Name: Auburnchick
House: Hufflepuff
OWL and Option: Arithmancy - Option 2: Create multiples (at least 8) of the same object.
Description of Proposed Work:
Dear Professors,
I am proposing an Arithmancy OWL that will consist of four pairs of adult-sized socks (for a total of eight items of the same object).
I am going to knit Angee, Cobblestones, Turmeric Socks, and Cadence Socks.
My swatches’ results were seven stitches/inch…slightly larger than the recommended gauge in the patterns. I am going to stick with my needle size (0s) and the yarns I’ve selected because of my experience knitting socks. If you’ll look at my completed project history, you’ll see that I have made a LOT of socks (an entire drawer full). One of my proposed patterns for this OWL is a Cookie A pattern, and I’ve knit quite a few of these, so again, I’m trusting my prior experience.

Please note that my swatch for Cadence is small; however, I knit a pair of socks for my Fall Muggle Studies OWL using the same yarn, Malabrigo Sock and the same needle size. The socks were a perfect fit. I hope you’ll accept that pair of socks as a suitable swatch if you find the one I made for Cadence too small.

Sequence & Points of Consideration:
I’m a Muggle high school teacher. I have five more weeks of school before summer vacation starts. Hence, I’ll begin with the two easiest patterns (Angee and Cobblestones), which will certainly be do-able these last few crazy days of school, and I will then complete the other more complicated patterns once school lets out…when I’ve become a normal human again and can actually think straight. :)
Proposed 50% Mark:
I will consider myself at the 50% mark after I have completed my second pair of socks. I’ll knit Angee and Cobblestones first and will submit those for this milestone in my OWL.
I thank you for your consideration of this proposal.
