Notes

Pieces blocked, waiting to be seamed.

4/21/10 Finally returning to this project. I think if I do a little everyday I might have a shot at finishing it in April. Maybe. I have to:

  1. Seam shoulders Done April 22
  2. Seam sides Done April 23
  3. Knit shawl collar Done May 3
  4. Seam sleeves Done April 23
  5. Set in sleeves Done May 4
  6. Buttons
  7. Weave in ends Done May 5

5/5/10 Although this needs another blocking and some buttons I am calling this done because I can move on to another project that involves knitting.

I loved this pattern and yarn.

The lace is really cool looking and the pattern was easy to remember after a spell. I can’t remember the last time I set in sleeves (have I ever? oh yes, the Jasper Hoodie was set in, but it is a kiddo sweater) and these worked beautifully. I think a second blocking will open up the lace and the ribbing to even out proportions. I imagine this will be a very comfy sweater for fall and foggy SF summer days.

The yarn is gorgeous and despite the weight difference performed well on size 8 needles. I used 4.7 skeins (~1058 yards) but calling it 5 for stash down purposes.
