Simple, fingerless gloves. Like the biking gloves. Short, only cover the palm, hardly any wrist (perhaps two rounds of ribbing).
Protection from the evilness of cold.
Basically using the glove construction of Natalya, without the cables and ribbing and with my finger mods from when I made them for Joanna.
Three rounds 1x1 rib, start thumb gusset/hand as per Natalya, except all stockinette. Fingers: 6 sts from each needle for index, plus 2CO, five rounds. Five on each side for middle, plus 2CO and 2 picked up, five rounds. Four on each side for ring, plus 2 CO and 2 picked up, four rounds. Rest for pinky, plus 2 picked up, three rounds. 15sts plus 3 picked up for the thumb, five rounds. All BO is EZ sewn.
1/3/10 - First glove done. I think I have enough for the second, but I’m not good at gauging the amount of yarn left in a yarn cake yet…
2/3/10 - Yep, definitely going to have enough yarn (plus extra leftovers, but I might need that one day). Got through the first two fingers - will finish tomorrow.
3/3/10 - Yep, they’re a little loose, but I’m good with that; they keep me warm, so I’m good.
