Ski socks, anyone?
10/11/09 - The yarn came in today! It’s gorgeous shade of red. I think Mom’ll be jealous :)
14/11/09 - I wasn’t planning on starting these until I finished my other two projects still on the needles (Movie Knitting and Kevat), but both of those were too large to put in my small purse that I was taking the the Diwali show, so guess what? I started the socks. My first two-at-a-time, my first time using wool and knowing what I’m doing… lets not replay the handspun-socks-felting story again…. I’m using my new US5 40” addi turbos. Oh my, these needles are fantastic! I was immobilized by their awesomeness at the first touch. They are so light and supple!
Note: toe+heel=.25, foot=.25, leg=.5
17/11/09 - Some notes for the leg portion:
-put a lifeline in right after the heel
-if it starts getting too tight, rip back a few rows and up a needle size
-if that doesn’t work, rib back to the lifeline, nix the ribbing, and follow in calf increases of this pattern.
24/11/09 - So, I got a few rows past the toe, and decided to screw two-at-a-time, and go back to one at a time. It was taking waaay longer than normal to knit the socks (somehow TAAT slowed my knitting pace down considerable, and it was very finicky doing ML for two). Only bad part of this is that I ordered a 47” 2.25mm circ from Knit Picks that’s going to be way too big… exchange?
For Heel: 10 live sts, 9 wrapped on each side
Finished the foot and heel (had to do the heel twice >.m a speed knitter.
1/12/09 - Done! I love them :)
