Nothing fancy. Just 2x2 ribbing for a few inches, and then stockinette all the way home. Thank goodness for the pretty, tonal yarn to keep me interested (and a pestering child, lol).
Okay, so I went with a waffle stitch just for kicks :) I worked the cuff for 1”, then switched to the waffle stitch and worked the leg until it measured 4.5” from the CO. Standard heel flap, followed by 5.25” for the foot. Decreased the toe to 16 sts and grafted closed.
Update: oh shoot…am I going to run out of yarn before finishing the second sock?! let’s hope not, otherwise I’ll have a lot of yarn left over if I have to buy a second skein. however, I could always use that for hexipuffs, lol.
Update #2: new plan. I had to evacuate for Hurricane Sandy, and I couldn’t get to the shop for a second skein of Shibui. I ran short just before starting the toe on the second sock so I pulled back the first and knit with the live strand of yarn until both socks were the same length. Then I took a mini-skein of yarn from my Play At Life Fiber Arts kit and re-knit the toes. Now both socks have matching sparkly toes, lol. So…we’re done.
