This is a quick and pretty easy project, with great results. I even tried crochet successfully for the first time to finish the crown. I used exactly 1 skein of the Blue Sky Alpacas yarn with about 0.66 meter to spare. Because I didn’t have a chunky weight yarn on hand, I added in a wool fingering weight yarn (the same one I used on the Stormy Sea project) to nice effect, similar to a tweed. I really love the two yarns together in this project.

I found the pattern to be a little puzzling at first, but it only took me one section to figure out the edging piece, and I started it over correctly. The seaming/finishing did take a while, but I’m pleased with the seamless looking result. I still need to find a giant button to add to the band. I’m so glad my head isn’t bigger! If it were, I’d have had to break out another skein.
