The blanket is progressing more quickly than I expected.

I am so not a blanket person.
Took a break to work on other projects, but now I’m back. Finished all of the blocks a couple of days ago. Didn’t math and ended up with 32 squares, so two extra. Might make a pillow with them.
Decided to do the PLT JAYG to join the squares. This has taken me so long to figure out. The only reason I keep at it is due to my hatred of weaving in ends. I realized afterwards that I shouldn’t have done the three SCs in the corners. It would have been easier to have kept a granny corner instead.
After working a few rows, I discovered I had been doing the second pass corner join incorrectly. I think I need to connect the corners by going under the first corner join. I have been going over and the corners aren’t connecting properly. I really don’t want to restart, so I’m leaving as is and taking it as a learning experience. Fortunately the black yarn makes it difficult to see the error.
So, I’ve messed up and four blocks in the middle are too similar. I wondered how I didn’t alternate them properly despite checking every row and I think it’s because this blue square looks kind of like a pink square and that threw me off. Now I’ve got to rip back three rows. My only consolation is that it didn’t take that long to do it the first time. It’s still several hours of work, though.

Finally finished.
Ripped back a few rows and was about to finish when I realized that I had made some mistakes in construction, so I started over. This time I made sure the blocks were positioned how I liked before joining them.
For the border, I did HDC around, with five in each corner and two on either side of the motif join for a total of four HDC in each join. Next round I crocheted a SC in BLO in each stitch.
