A quasi stash-busting endeavor.
I have wanted to make a cozy for my coffee press for some time now. I even went to the library and checked out a book dedicated to crocheted and knitted coffee cozies. After working on another granny stripe hand bag from Sarah Freisberg, I decided that I wanted to make something similar for the press.
It took several tries to get the width more or less correct--it’s still a bit too wide. After I had started, I looked online for similar patterns since I had only crocheted granny stripes in the round and wanted some hints on doing it flat. That’s when I stumbled across a similar design on the blog Crochet with Raymond. There’s no pattern available, but I liked her idea of adding a few chains to connect both ends of the cozy top to prevent it from slipping down.
I had intended to add buttons, but I discovered I didn’t have any in the right size. Wanting to finish the project, I just added two sets of ties. Looks like I didn’t get the placement just right for the bottom set, though.
I’m sort of regretting my choice of yellow for the border. I originally wanted to use red or tangerine ad I think either would have been a better choice.
