NOTICE: This is NOT a pattern. These are my notes that I scribbled in a notebook, probably around 1am when I do most of my crocheting. My counts might be off and nothing might make sense. I apologize. I made this several years ago and I don’t recall what formula I used to size it up. Happy Hooking! :-)
I sized up this pattern to make it fit a 4yo. Here is what I did:
Caron Simply Soft
5.5mm crochet hook
ch 76
R1: sc in second ch from hook & ea ch across (75 sc)
R2: ch 2, turn, dc in first st and next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st. #dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from # across. (98 dc)
R3: ch 2, turn, dc in first st and next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st. #dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from # across. End by dc on top of ch 2 of previous row. (112 dc)
R4: ch 2, turn, dc in first st and next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st. #dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from # across. End by dc on top of ch 2 of previous row. (131 dc)
R5: ch 2, turn, dc in same st. #skip next st, shell (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next st. Repeat from # across. 2 dc in last st. (64 shells)
R6: ch 2, turn, dc in same st. Shell in next 7 shells, skip next 18 shells. Shell in next 14 shells, skip next 18 shells. Shell in next 7 shells. 2 dc on top of ch 2.
R7: ch 2, turn, shell in ea shell across. End with dc in dc from previous row and dc on top of ch 2 from previous row.
I used Glitz Crystal Shank buttons in Pink by Le Bouton. They can be purchased at Walmart.
