This pattern is wonderful. My 4-year-old nephew absolutely loves sharks, and has been asking me to knit him a shark for the past year. I happened upon this shark hat pattern and knew it was perfect.

I knit this up in just a few days, blocked it slightly, and then left it laying around the house for weeks before I sewed his eyes on. :)

For the eyes, I used 2 different buttons - regular-sized black buttons and extra-large blue buttons. I thought about filling the top fin with fiberfill to make it always stand, but knowing 4-year-old boys, it wouldn’t have lasted long, so I just left it.

I used size 8 needles throughout the whole pattern. The hat fits me perfectly, and is just a tad loose on my nephew, but he’d prefer it that way. Great pattern!!
