This pattern booklet was first published in 1960 and has a black cover. It was revised and reprinted in 1970 with a yellow cover. Because it is out of print, I receive requests for this pattern on a weekly basis. The bad news is that I was told by a Ravelry editor I can not share the pattern because of copyright laws (even when they are this old)! The good news is that I see this booklet being sold on eBay on a regular basis. Search eBay with variations of the following: Vintage Bernat Baby Fashions in Baby Germantown Knitting Book #87.

I have been looking at this pattern for years and finally decided to give it a try. It was very easy. However, I have noticed that vintage baby items are quite small compared to today’s baby patterns. This particular pattern is for a 1 year old, but I think it is comparable to 6 months. Additionally, the sleeves and cuffs are quite narrow.
