Notes

1/23/2011 - I can’t believe it took me so long to finish this project, but I’m super happy to finally have it finished! I used all but a couple yards of my 6 balls of cashmere, it was so soft to work with. I hope I can knit another 100% cashmere project soon!

7/7/10 - Trying to decide if I need to include the last ball of cashmere, or if I can save it for something else. It all depends on how long it is with 5 balls, then I’ll decide to add the 6th or not.

6/26/10 - Just keep knitting, just keep knitting!!! No, this project is fun, and easy to pick up and put down; but it really makes you decide how you feel about short-rows! Love them or hate them, i’m glad i’m learning how to use them in more ways. Nearly done, trying to decide if I want to go all the way to 80+“… so we’ll see!

5/5/10 - This scarf has now traveled half the world with me! From Florida over the Atlantic ocean, through Gibralter into the Mediterranean Sea, up the coast of Italy and all the way back home to Chicago via Barcelona!!! Oh, and it went on a trip to Vegas back in September, way back when I put it down… I’m kind of glad I did, because it was super fun to knit a pasta shaped scarf in Italy! Hehehe

9/1 - I finally got through the first ball, now I realize just how so many people cast on for this and can’t finish. Once you get the knack of it, it is a bit boring to finish to the recommended length of 86”. Since I don’t have to turn the work every row, it is going much easier, and quicker. Cross my fingers the next 5 balls don’t kick my butt!

8/29 - Learning to purl backwards means I really hope the short rows will go a little quicker. Turning around so much takes up so much time, and I want to make it go a little faster.

8/28 - Cast on super impulsively for this one, I had the yarn for less than 2 hours before I started! I got it for a steal on Elann, although the color wasn’t really true to it’s name - Robin’s Egg (imho, it should be a bit more green toned, but subtle.) Even though the color’s not quite what I hoped for, it’s still a lovely shade of blue, and it’s so soft. I don’t think all of my scarves should be the exact same shade of aqua/turquoise/Tiffany blue.

It took a few repeats of the short rows before I could wrap my brain around the construction of this scarf. But, I figured once I was knitting it, it would eventually make sense, and it did. So I was pleased about that bit! :)
