Pattern - http://www.anniesattic.com/detail.html?prod_id=74593

The dark green yarn I used at the bottom is not red heart. I don’t know what brand it is but it is acrylic yarn from my stash.

Oh MY gosh, so I got stuck on this and couldn’t figure it out and it has been hibernating. I just picked it up again to try again because the baby it is for is now 6 months old. He is my sweet little great nephew so I really want to get it done for him. I muddled through the one place I was stuck only to get stuck somewhere else. THERE ARE MISTAKES IN THE PATTERN AND THERE IS AN ERRATA AVAILABLE! All this time I’ve been fighting with this… ERRRGH. Anyway, if you downloaded it as a pdf go back to where you bought it to download a new copy. I got mine from annie’s attic and was able to go back and download the fixed version.

The fixed version isn’t that much better. It is still screwed up in places. This is such a cute pattern but it is poorly written! ERRGH. I will never buy another pattern from this person. The clouds didn’t really work like it was written either and I had to muddle through that too. Now I have all the pieces finished and I just need to add the details to the Giraffes and sew everything down. This is going to be such a cute blanket. I’m glad I took notes as I went so if I ever want to do it again it wont be so hard.

I added tails to the giraffes. It just didn’t seem right for them to not have them. They are just chains with some dark brown added to the ends. They did not illustrate how to do the embroidery so I just did my own thing.

I washed the blanket to make sure the dark green mystery yarn wasn’t going to shrink more than the red heart and it didn’t. It looks great. The pictures I took are after it was machine washed on delicate and dried in the dryer on low heat.

Thank God I’m done with this! It only took me a YEAR!
