UPDATED: A nonslip coating was added to the sole. A how-to tutorial link has been added below along with additional images.
I was intimidated at first but it actually knits up fairly quickly. I got it done in less than a week. I would have given it five star and listed it as easy if it were not for some minor but enough of a problem to stall production with the both the written pattern and the video instruction video I found online. I am not the only one who had problems knitting it so I would not necessary consider it “easy” in the sense to classify as a beginner project but it can be done by a beginner who at least has experience knitting (this will not be their first project and very proficient with basic foundation skill to have progressed beyond the average beginner. They can do knit, purl, increase, decrease and are at lease aware in print or by video on how to the cable stitch is done. A good note for any left-hand knitter, is to reverse the cable stitch or turn leg portion (cable) piece upside down BEFORE sewing it onto the foot (slipper). I found this out the hard way and had to cut off my buttons in order to turn it around. However, the experience was good to know for any future cable knit for me, who is also a left-hand knitter.
The Purchase price was a seasonal sale price purchase in December 2013. It was a help to use iKnits YouTube video entitled, How to Knit Cable (see link below). NOTE: She does not go through entire process only the basic needed to get the create the slipper but the finishing work (sewing on the button and seam work to required to complete the seam work) for the slippers. I am however working on a video to upload to YouTube showing the finishing work that many like myself would have like to have seen.
