Notes

tl;dr: If you’re just after the chart, go here.

September 2009: She placed 1st in her class at the fair! Writeup is in my blog.

It also appears that I have spawned an army of fair isle chickens. Look at them all!

August 2009: I’ve entered her in the Puyallup Fair (Hobby Hall, Division H, Class 3020). Wish her luck!

May 2009: Winner of the Renaissance Yarns Knitted Chicken knit-along contest for LYS Tour 2009. Congrats to all entries, they were great! The other chickens on display were:

Project notes:
I drew up the chart for the body from scratch, but the shaping and construction are per pattern. The charted colorwork is stranded.

She’s also quite hefty. I put a sachet of poly pellets at the bottom, and stuffed the rest firmly with bamboo stuffing.

Gauge was interesting. 3s for the flat knitting, 5s for the non-stranded in-the-round parts, and 6s for stranded in-the-round. And she broke my number 3 Addis, the little clucker.

Anyone looking at my yarn usage… the poppy (orange) on the chicken itself was quite small, just the beak, but I did a lot of swatches with it, which is why it used up so much. The usage for the other colors should be accurate.

The colorwork chart is now available! See my blog for details!

Thanks for coming by, and many thanks for the kind comments! :D
