25/7/12 I’ve been waiting for this pattern to arrive all week, I’m very excited to get it started.
I got to the 4th block and realised I was joining the squares back to front, so that the join was more noticeable on the front rather than the back. Mmmm what to do, frog the first three blocks and remake, or let them be?
31/7/12 I left the squares as they were, I can’t see the seaming now that they are sewn in. I’m currently on the second squares section. Although this time I’m not turning for the second round. I don’t really get why the pattern specifies that, they look neater all done in one direction. I love how quickly this blanket is growing! It’s great fun to work on.
There are SOOOOO many ends in this project. I’m trying to sew them in as I go, because if I leave them all to the end it’ll end up thrown in a bag in the back of the cupboard just waiting to be finished off; i.e, it’ll never be finished!
5/8/12 I loved the way krystal16’s modifications to her blue star project (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/krystal16/blue-star) looked, so with her permision I’m attempting to go off piste as it were and make the outter half squares full squares and crochet a larger border. The stars are just placed in for the picture, I’m hoping to get them attached this evening.
9/8/12, I’ve not had much time to work on this in the last week, but yesterday I noticed a mistake than meant I had to rip back all of my edging :o( It was painful to do, but it actualy looks much better (less squashed up) now that I’ve restarted it and invcluded the 2 sl stitches at each join. Insert rolling eye icon here…..
12/8/12 Two sides are now complete! Just the edging on the other 2 corners and a border right around and it will be
13/8/12 - I’m going to mark this as complete. I may or may not go back and add a round of puff stitch edging at some point, depending on how it looks through fresh eyes in a few days time. I’m just glad to put it down for a while - my poor wrists are aching!
