Notes

I was blown away by coollinda’s version of this vest. Since we just started a Modular themed craft along over in the FatCatKnits group, I was searching for a project to make use of many stash yarns. This fit the ticket! I started by knitting a central back panel from the Magic Genie yarn- went as far as I could. Then I picked up along each side and worked my way out. The main stitch used is seed stitch, but I am doing some garter ridges here and there where I want a particular accent. I have inserted one row of a coordinating ribbon yarn from my commercial stash- I really like the effect, and will add it again in another place. Still deciding weather I want the front symmetrical or assymetrical in color and stitches.

Mods- I made the back wider to fit my plus size shape, before making the arm holes. I also made them about 12 inches deep rather than 6 inches- I do not like tight armholes. And the armholes are garter, not seed stitch, with a semi rigid cast on and bind off for structure.

August 2015- more mods- closed the shoulders right about the armholes, so it is a vest rather than a rectangle with armholes. Really best suited to a large to 1x size body- my bubble butt pulls the whole thing to the back in a way I don’t like.
