Notes

The golden roses were inspired by my china painting class sponsored by a wealthy lady (I never got to meet) during my AFS-year 1977/78. I picked the motif from my china painting instruction book “Pass me another plate” by Wanda Clapham, still an essential part of my huge book collection. I just made a few adjustments in size & abstract design to fit the embroidery needles on my simple Singer sewing machine.

The-black-pearl-golden-rose-version is one out of a quartette, showing different motifs & colour varieties. The yarn is minor quality though, cheap as always in my teenage-days & twenties, I had no spare money for buying decent supplies, since the early & tragic loss of my dad in 1970 & the even more traumatising death of my mom 4 years later left my brothers & me in a quite desperate condition.
