15 Jan 2016: Using up two balls of this wool blend from my mother’s stash. Mittens will be for a domestic charity, Warm Up Cleveland. I continue to tinker with the decs at the top so they are more alike on both sides of the mittens.

23 Jan 2016: Yardage is estimate. Mittens are hopefully something a man would wear. It seems men tend to wear gloves, but if I knitted gloves for anyone, I would not feel too charitable after fiddling with all those fingers. The pair will also go toward Harry’s Hundred ==> See Post 15

Mods:

1. Added .5” to cuff
2. Decs at left side of mitten facing you as you knit are k to the last 4 st, k1 MC, put the st just knitted back on the left needle, slip next 2 st over the k st, k1
3. Used DK for the CC. Gauge: 44 rows and 28 st = 4”. Size 10.5” long x 9” circumference.
4. Thumb marked with waste yarn instead of CO. Picked up 17 stitches, then k st #17 with st #1 at the end of the first row, for total of 16 st for thumb. Thumb 3” long.
