Notes

24th April
First solo warping. Not sure that Elinor will be strong enough and this solo flight is using a partly frogged ball. Have warped the slots so far.

25th April
Set up an 8” warp using Elinor. I think I may have the beams on back to front but it doesn’t seem to affect how the warping went.

Added brown paper in place of warping sticks (waiting to be cut to size).

Used DK red acrylic as waste yarn.

First few inches of weaving going well. The warp is tight enough and showing no sign of snapping or wearing thin.

8 May 2015

Had real trouble controlling the tension of the warp and didn’t manage to keep the weft level.

The resulting scarf is a very open weave, uneven in places. Selve edges also not straight.

However, Posh Elinor proved strong enough for warp. The scarf is light and airy.

9th May

After soaking and drying, the scarf has magically sorted itself out. The selve edges are mch neater and the uneven weaving has settled into a lovely random pattern, thanks to the colours of the Posh Elinor.
